Direct answer

A long-torso suit is not simply a standard pattern stretched vertically. Measure total torso and distribute length through the body sections so the bust, waist, gusset and leg opening remain in the intended position.

Measure the right verticals

Use a defined torso measurement plus bust, waist, hip and rise landmarks. The same total length can sit differently on different bodies.

Place added length intentionally

Decide whether the product needs more length above the waist, below it or through both. This prevents low armholes, dropped bust support or excess at the crotch.

Check fabric recovery

High vertical stretch can feel accommodating at first but may pull the neckline or leg opening during wear. Review recovery and wet behavior.

Fit the target body

Use a long-torso fit model matching the intended base size. Photograph and measure key landmarks consistently across sample rounds.
