Chlorine resistance is a property of a defined material or garment under stated test conditions. It should be verified on the selected fabric and color, not inferred from a generic polyester or training-swim label.
Define the expected exposure
Occasional resort use and repeated training use are different briefs. State pool frequency, expected care and the part of the garment where recovery matters most.
Review more than color
Chlorinated water can affect shade, elastane and recovery. Test the performance relevant to the product instead of relying on a single visual check.
Include elastic and lining
A durable shell does not compensate for failing elastic, thread or lining. The garment system should be assessed at the tension points that drive fit.
Tie every claim to evidence
Keep the test method, specimen, condition and result with the approved material record. Recheck when the supplier, color or finish changes.
